Student Leadership and Enrichment
At QEHS Sixth Form, we believe education is about more than just academic success. It is also about developing character, confidence and the skills to lead and thrive beyond school. That is why every Wednesday afternoon, Sixth Form students take part in a dynamic programme of Leadership and Enrichment opportunities, carefully designed to build independence, employability and a well-rounded Sixth Form experience.
Student Leadership Opportunities
Students can take on meaningful leadership roles that make a real impact across the school community, including:
- House Captains – Championing and organising teams for house events, supporting younger students and building school spirit
- Subject Ambassadors – Supporting departments, mentoring younger students, and promoting subject pathways
- Marketing Team – Representing QEHS through social media, school tours, events and communications
- Sixth Form Coaches – Offering academic or pastoral support to younger students
- Senior Student Team – Leading key aspects of Sixth Form life and representing the student voice at school-wide level
These roles build teamwork, communication and leadership skills, all of which are essential for university applications, apprenticeships and future careers.
Enrichment Pathways
Alongside leadership, students choose from a wide variety of enrichment options, tailored to their interests and future goals, including:
- Duke of Edinburgh Award (Gold or Silver)
- Sports Leader Qualification
- LAMDA Qualification (speaking and performance)
- Sport Social and Fitness Suite (badminton, football, fitness etc)
- Bishop Grosseteste Pre-Teaching Award
- Medical, Veterinary and Dentistry (MVD) Preparation
- University Cooking (life skills for independent living)
- Work Experience Placements
- Advanced Learning (Super Curricular)
