Welcome to Sixth Form
Sixth Form at QEHS offers an inspiring environment in which students can develop independence, explore new opportunities and prepare for life beyond school. With a strong emphasis on independent learning, personal responsibility and academic ambition, our Sixth Form provides the ideal bridge between school and the next stage of each student’s journey.
This is a time of transition: from childhood to adulthood; from school to university, apprenticeships, travel or employment; and from traditional classroom learning to greater independence, freedom and responsibility. While expectations remain high, students are trusted to take ownership of their studies, manage their time effectively and remain motivated. We expect every student to be fully committed, giving one hundred per cent effort in everything they do. They are supported throughout by a dedicated Sixth Form team who offer guidance, encouragement and challenge to help each individual stay on track and reach their full potential.
In our close-knit and supportive Sixth Form community, every student is known as an individual. Smaller class sizes help to build strong relationships between students and staff, creating a respectful and collaborative atmosphere. Students are encouraged to think critically, express their views and build confidence through open discussion, an approach that nurtures independence and deepens understanding.
Life in the Sixth Form extends well beyond the classroom. Our beautiful College House reflects aspects of university life, providing a spacious environment in which to study, collaborate and relax. Across a variety of well-equipped spaces, students enjoy a balance of focused learning and social interaction, supported by comfortable seating, WiFi access and the Sixth Form Café, which serves fresh food and drinks throughout the day.
We encourage all students to approach the Sixth Form with a proactive approach to learning, the resilience to embrace challenge and the motivation to excel. This is a period of significant personal and academic growth, and we are proud to support students as they discover their strengths, define their ambitions and develop into the remarkable individuals they are capable of becoming.
