Residential Trips
At QEHS, we offer a wide range of residential trips, both co- and extra-curricular to support both learning in the classroom and encourage student’s development. Curriculum and enrichment trips and visits are an important and memorable part of education. They can enhance learning, enable students to grow in self-confidence and independence and allow them the chance to show leadership and teamwork skills. At QEHS, we aim to provide our students with a variety of experiences throughout their time with us.
We strive to accommodate as many students as possible onto trips. In the event of a trip being oversubscribed, we will endeavour to increase the capacity. However, this is not always possible and so the criteria for allocation of places (where these are limited) will be published on the initial trip letter. Each trip is independent of other trips and if a student is not successful in gaining a place on one trip, it does not give them priority for another trip.
We constantly review the trips and visits we offer and actively look to increase the range of opportunities available. We work hard to keep the cost of trips as low as possible to ensure they are accessible to all students, whilst still providing high-quality experiences. All providers and tour operators we use meet the necessary requirements set out by the local authority. Students in receipt of Free School Meals or the Post-16 Bursary can request financial support for some trips, details of this are given on individual trip letters.
